Trailer Breakdown
The trailer starts with a man putting tape on his victim. The plot reveals that this man is the Riddler, who starts targeting big businessmen, politicians, and corrupt individuals in Gotham City.
Next, we see James Gordon and his FBI team investigating crimes in the same scene.
We also see Batman investigating because he's recently introduced in Gotham, fighting local villains and criminals. James Gordon knows him and calls him to the investigation site.
The Riddler leaves a message "To the Batman" at the crime scene.
The camera focuses on a newspaper with the headline "Lies" and the name "Don's..." referring to Gotham's mayor.
We see Don Michael Junior in the following scene.
Haven't a clue? Let's play a game just me and you....
Below the message are some symbols indicating "HE LIES STILL".
We get our first look at the Batcave, which is notably different from other movie versions.
In the next shot, we see a car entering a funeral and a man coming out with a billboard and a tape recorder that reads "To the Batman," which then explodes. Interestingly, the man is the one whose funeral it is, and he is the next victim of the Riddler.
Following this, we see Catwoman in action, stealing something but not in her traditional comic suit, and engaging in a fight with Batman during their first encounter.
Next, we get our first look at Colin Farrell, who is unrecognizable as Penguin, as Batman attempts to apprehend him.
We then see Batman in conflict with the police, with James Gordon trying to stop him, indicating Batman lacks support from law enforcement.
Later, we see individuals with skull makeup, possibly affiliated with Joker's gang or the Riddler, engaging in various chaotic activities.
In a particularly intense scene, Batman brutally incapacitates a criminal, declaring, "I am vengeance."
We also catch glimpses of the Batmobile and other action-packed scenes including a bike chase and dramatic swings.
The trailer ends with the iconic Batman logo and title, hinting at deeper revelations and conflicts to come.
A voice, presumably the Riddler's, ominously tells Batman, "You're a part of this, too," suggesting a deeper connection between them as the Riddler targets corrupt figures in Gotham.
From the above breakdown, it's evident that the film promises a fresh take on the Batman mythos, exploring complex themes and intense action sequences. The director's approach to portraying Gotham and its characters adds layers of intrigue and anticipation for fans.
